Innovative Chocolate Ice Cream — Cool down when it's still heating up

More about homemade ice cream…

The calories are adding up, so I tried the ice cream recipe with the half and half instead of the heavy cream and left out the sugar. This time I was looking for a different flavor and decided to melt a chocolate bar from Trader Joes – dark chocolate with almonds (3.5 oz. size). A delicious variation.

Break the chocolate bar into four pieces and microwave in a 2 cup measuring cup at 50% power for 2 minutes, stir and microwave for an additional minute. Stir the chocolate until smooth. Add a little of the base into the warm chocolate and stir until well-blended. Continue adding small amounts of the base into the chocolate mixture until the measuring cup is full. Then pour the chocolate mixture into the base and stir until well combined. Process as directed.
