Last night a group of friends gathered to cook authentic Spanish Paella. In fact, Barbara even hand-carried the rice from Spain last week. Two teams worked together to create this one dish meal. The guys tackled the grilling: chicken, smoked sausage and lobster. The women worked at the stovetop preparing the vegetables, including five types of peppers, onions, and garlic, and then adding the rice, shrimp, clams, and mussels and peas. When the rice was just right, we added all the grilled items to the paella to complete the dish. Chopped parsley, roasted red peppers and lemon wedges finished off our beautiful dish. Thanks to Paco and Janet Capetillo, visiting from Guadalajara, and Bob, Barbara and Alex Zaugg for their great cooking skills!
