Somehow the Island of Kauai seemed a bit more exciting during this last visit.  We were able to find some new restaurants right in the Poipu area and we were particularly impressed with Josselin’s Tapas Bar & Grill.  Something new and upscale on the island….sorry, Pomodoro, we still love the classic Italian dinner whenever we visit, but we can’t handle the heavy New Jersey Italian every night.
Josselin’s is based on a sharing concept and boy did we share.. The wood Oven Naan Bread with garlic confit and yogurt cucumber dressing came out first.Delicious.  Next came the Seared Diver Scallops with Vietnamese Caramel and Mixed Green Salad. The Pumpkin and Cauliflower Poached Dumpling with Kauai Fresh Corn Broth was next.  The 36 Hour Korean short ribs with potato foam were my favorite!

Another great fun feature of this restaurant is the Sangria Bar….the featured beverages included:

Lychee Sangria
Classic Red Sangria
Pomegranate Sangria
Berry-Acai Sangria
Lilikoi Sangria

The Sangria Bar

A great addition to the island and a great place to go after hiking in Waimea Canyon or swimming at Poipu beach.

Sounds delicious. Poipu in general is a great place to visit. This sounds like a great place to visit after a day in the water! It’s definitely changed since I was last there. Dining wasn’t this upscale back in the day…
